Google AdWords & PPC
This is the last marketing topic on my site because it's the one that costs money. Although pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns definitely work, you will have to pay out some marketing dollars to get results. If your site doesn't generate income, you should probably skip this section. However, if your site does make money, you may want to start a good PPC campaign sooner but you'll want to at least optimize your content and generate effective keywords before going forward.
What is PPC?
PPC or Pay-per-click advertising is an internet marketing model where the advertiser (you) pays for each time someone clicks on a link to your site. Usually this link is a relevant content-specific text link on the same page as your search results, although these links can also be shown on websites, blogs, or elseware. For a more complete definition, check out the WikiPedia PPC definition.
Choosing the Right PPC Providers
Although there are a lot of PPCs, the big three are Google AdWords, Microsoft adCenter, and Yahoo! Search Marketing and I recommend them in that order. Google is the most popular search engines and so you'll probably get the maximum exposure with them, and AdSense campaigns integrate with Google Analytics, but since everyone else is using Google AdWords, your bids may be a little higher. I then recommend Microsoft adCenter over Yahoo!, because many people will keep the defaults of their Internet Explorer which is the Microsoft Live search. Also, many internet providers include MSN in their installations.
How It Works
Setting up a ppc is pretty easy.
